Am -  Ran 3 miles in the morning.  Not the usual 4 because I went back early to ice my hip flexor a bit.

Pm -  Got to Herriman around 3, and luckily it wasn't raining.  Only rained like twice the whole night for 10 minutes.  Chilled and watched races, ate some food, then warmed up with Alex, Skylar and Logan around 6:30.  We ran through a nice neighborhood next to the high school.  Got back to the school with plenty of time, took a gel, put my spikes on, did like 4 strides and some warm up stuff, then raced.

The start sucked, I got smashed into the back.  On the turn and back straight I really had to push my way through to the front.  I felt kinda bad, I was really aggressive, but position is so important in the ocho.  Moved up next to talon hull on the 2nd turn, then on the home straight moved into the lead.  Surged at the lap which was like high 57 and tried to get moving again.  From 300 out I just tried to keep the lead, I knew guys were coming.  Going to the final straight, a Bear River kid passes me and I surge to stay with him.  With 50 to go I dig even harder and gapped him by .4 seconds for the win.

It was good to win, but honestly I was a bit bummed.  I really thought I was running like a 1:55 or something, it was hard dude.  Whatever,  my speed will come down in the next two weeks as my miles drop.

Cooled down a bit, then like two hours later got ready for the 4x400 which was wild.  Our guys ran good, but coming into the last handoff, Paul was in last out of 7.  Everybody was right there though.  Our blind handoffs are pretty good and that moved us into 6th right off.  I passed a guy with 200m to go, then another guy with 75m to go and we got 4th.  I split a 50 so yeah, solid.  Good meet.  Ready for a great state meet.

8.6 miles in the whole evening.
