Am -  Easy run, Starbucks.  4 miles, felt a bit tired.  Kershaw is a beast.

Pm -  Short speed workout today, but it was tough.  2 sets of (4x150m) at 800m pace, 20 seconds rest.  2 minutes between the sets.  My time was 21.75 (1:56).

15 minutes of warm up, then the first set was good.  I was about half a second fast on each rep.  Second set was hard, I was about half a second slow on each rep.  Good workout.  Cooled down like 3.5 with Paul to get 6.6 for the afternoon.

Am -  Easy 4 in the morning.  I didn't run with the guys on the way out to starbucks cuz I was late.  But I did on the way back and we were moving pretty quick cuz PV alum Tyson ran with us.

Pm -  most of the team was up at Canyon View for a race, so it was just me, Carson, Paul, and preston.  And mini Brian.  Ran 4 miles into Washington.  I only did 4 barefoot striders cause I stepped on a thorn in my heel and it got stuck.  Also some how during school, my left big toe joint got hardcore strained so its extremely sore.

Am -  Tempo in the morning.  12 min at 5:20 pace and coach had us surge hard for about 10 seconds whenever he whistled.  I ran totally alone so it was pretty tough by the end to keep knocking out 1:20's.  The surges were good, that's something I need to improve on, although I did good at responding to surges in the mile on saturday.  Toe hurt bad this morning but I just prayed and all was good while running.  God's tender mercies are real man.  2.6 warm plus 1.2 cool for 6.1 total.

Pm -  Weird day.  AP lit test in the morning.  Then AP Calc review during practice time.  So me, Andrew, Preston, and Paul ran Starbucks together at like 4:30.  Toe was a bit sore.  Sooo ready to do some serious math ballin' tomorrow.

Am -  Easy 4.  It was pretty nice I got decent sleep.  Awesome sunrise running back to the school around 6:33 am.

Pm -  Another long day with an AP test so I was pretty tired.  4 miles to my church and back.  Then 4 200's on the track.  Feeling a bit of a cold, so I need to get extra sleep tonight.  5 M total.

Am -  Ran 3 miles in the morning.  Not the usual 4 because I went back early to ice my hip flexor a bit.

Pm -  Got to Herriman around 3, and luckily it wasn't raining.  Only rained like twice the whole night for 10 minutes.  Chilled and watched races, ate some food, then warmed up with Alex, Skylar and Logan around 6:30.  We ran through a nice neighborhood next to the high school.  Got back to the school with plenty of time, took a gel, put my spikes on, did like 4 strides and some warm up stuff, then raced.

The start sucked, I got smashed into the back.  On the turn and back straight I really had to push my way through to the front.  I felt kinda bad, I was really aggressive, but position is so important in the ocho.  Moved up next to talon hull on the 2nd turn, then on the home straight moved into the lead.  Surged at the lap which was like high 57 and tried to get moving again.  From 300 out I just tried to keep the lead, I knew guys were coming.  Going to the final straight, a Bear River kid passes me and I surge to stay with him.  With 50 to go I dig even harder and gapped him by .4 seconds for the win.

It was good to win, but honestly I was a bit bummed.  I really thought I was running like a 1:55 or something, it was hard dude.  Whatever,  my speed will come down in the next two weeks as my miles drop.

Cooled down a bit, then like two hours later got ready for the 4x400 which was wild.  Our guys ran good, but coming into the last handoff, Paul was in last out of 7.  Everybody was right there though.  Our blind handoffs are pretty good and that moved us into 6th right off.  I passed a guy with 200m to go, then another guy with 75m to go and we got 4th.  I split a 50 so yeah, solid.  Good meet.  Ready for a great state meet.

8.6 miles in the whole evening.

Am -  semi long run up into the gully in Sandy.  It was really fun, I got to swing on the tree swing this year.  I think Alta runs in there a lot.  It's dope.  Rolled my ankle hard, yolo.
